Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) translates to Doctors without Borders. MSF teams work in more than 70 countries to provide lifesaving assistance where it is needed the most. We provide medical humanitarian aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, natural disasters or exclusion from healthcare. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of independence, neutrality and impartiality.
MSF has some of its largest medical projects across East Africa including Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Somalia and Burundi. MSF Eastern Africa is the regional office for MSF based in Kenya. It supports our medical programmes in the region, recruiting staff to help run our operations around the world and raises awareness of humanitarian crises that we are responding to.
By 2022, more than 68,000 people worked with MSF and contributed to giving lifesaving medical assistance to people who would otherwise be denied access to healthcare, clean water and shelter.
